What Have We Been Up To?

Wow! Summer is almost over already. In just over a week, our kids will be back to school, and back to routine. In the whirlwind that has been this summer, I have not had the time to blog about any of what we have done, so here is a fast forwarded version of the past few weeks:

We spent a fun 4th of July with good friends and fun fireworks.

Annaka turned 10!!!! (And received the much-coveted violin!!!)

Sherry and Patrick visited and we all enjoyed the jet skis.

The little girls went to soccer camp (in the mornings) held by our church, and Cassie was a youth leader.

We held 3 parties in one week. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday pool parties for my girls.

Maya turned 8.

Cassie turned 12.

Our good friends from Florida came to visit. Mark did a trail race in Tahoe.

Then they came to our house. Of course, we went to the lake. It was 101 degrees!

We joined them at a family cabin near the Sequoia National Forest for 5 days of relaxed fun! We hiked, chopped wood, played board games, swam, fished, cooked and ate delicious food, ran, and found very large trees! It was AMAZING!!!!!

We returned from our trip, and this week I am a leader/driver for our church's Adventure Camp, where my kids are attending. Each day we take the kids to somewhere fun in the local area. We did the zoo, bowling, movies, a massive trampoline place, and the final day is a pool party. Each day also includes lunch, so we take the entire group to McDonalds, Chick-fil-A, pizza, etc. I am completely wiped!!!!! (and I need a detox......too much fast food....blech!)
